Somewhere, 2025
Blue epoxy resin
120 × 100 x 15 cm
The work that welcomes visitors into the loggia of Palazzo Vizzani Lambertini Sanguinetti invites an initial reorientation of the gaze: the epoxy resin cast of a fireplace—its lightness seeming to float rather than rest on the marble—is here inverted, as if the arched opening that defines its structure sought to escape its own closure. Somewhere is thus realized with the care of an archaeological gesture, the same typically reserved for conservation: the work reveals a detail long sedimented at the margins of attention, extracts it from its original context within the palace, and assigns it a new placement—as a point of suspension within the open space. The cast refracts like a solidified mirror of water, tracing with its apparent immateriality a subtle boundary between the horizontal and vertical axes, between sky and earth. A body both foreign and familiar, it seems to invite the dissolution of distances, where void and light sketch out that secret continuity which binds the tangible and the dream.
