Nello spazio e nel tempo (In space and time), features a bronze casting of a typical whip antenna—a flexible, elongated device primarily used in military convoys for medium- and long-range radio communications. When stationary, the antenna stands upright to optimize signal transmission and reception; in motion, it is pulled forward or inclined, secured with a cable or elastic support to prevent damage from vibrations and impacts. Andreoni captures this precise moment of tension, freezing the antenna in its protective stance. The resulting form is a suspended line in space—resembling a gesture, a trace, or even the beginnings of an arch, a recurring motif in the artist’s practice. Here, the arch is conceived as a line that, at a certain point, has chosen to diverge—an exploration of movement, direction, and the intersection of space and time.
